Pitching excitement

Well, it's a new week with new possibilities. My fingers are so frozen, this post is going to take a while to type but I'm happy because my pitch to Harlequin has gone! I was stuck between two stories, both of which I love, so I was cheeky and added a paragraph or two about the other one on the last page. Just to show that I have something else waiting to be looked at :)

My historical is plowing along, I've just jumped the 50,000 word hurdle. Not so great, is the 50ks in 30 days. Although I have written more in the last two weeks than I probably would have normally, I'm still very much behind. I'm at 12,267 words and nearly at the end of the second week. I've averaged a thousand words a day which for me isn't very good when I know I can do a thousand words an hour. The next two days are complete write-offs since I'm going to a party tonight, I'll be hungover tomorrow and playing with my girls on Sunday. Hopefully next week, I can catch up. I really need to do about twenty thousand words but it's doable. I think...

Anyway, I won't hear back about the Molly until July and the Claddagh probably getting into August so no news to report on that front. For anyone interested, Molly and Matilda still aren't home. They have really aggressive ringworm and I just can't risk it with the babies so it's a few more days to a week before the house is filled with meows and 'ow's (from us being scratched and bitten and loved).

Happy writing!

Don't be too hard on yourself re your word count. Keeping on at it is the important thing. I get where you're coming from as I'm also capable of doing that type of speed in the word count. However I've also noticed unless a deadline is LOOMING looming, I have 2 days on, 1 day off in the writing rhythm.

Yay on getting the pitch away!

A quote from Douglas Adams, Author. "I love deadlines. I love the whooshing sound they make when they go past".

Bronwyn, you worked really hard on your pitch, so congratulate yourself on getting that done. Don't worry that you are behind on the word count. It doesn't matter. You've got 12K more than you did at the beginning of the month. So good going.

I'm a published author but I'm still mostly stumbling about in the dark looking for the right paths so this blog is about that, though sometimes something will give the me the shits and I'll have a bit of a rant. I'll try not to be offensive but occasionally my mouth opens without asking my brain's permission so I'll apologise in advance.
