Woohoo! I finally did it! You can now find me at www.bronwynstuart.com

This is more exciting than starting a website I reckon. Now I'll be out there for everyone to see (which isn't nearly as scary as it should be). I'm not even sure why I've procrastinated about this for so long, it really is a no brainer.

Anyway, a quick update... I have my chapters ready to send to Blaze and they ARE going to be in the post tomorrow! Then I have a plan of attack for the next few weeks. Finish, polish, polish, polish. I have three books on the go at the moment and I've made a promise to myself not to start the historical I so desperately want to write until the three contemporaries are done. And then I had to make another promise since I've unwittingly stumbled across script writing. Do not learn how to write a script until the books are finished!! I am working on a chick lit- which I'm going to post on my progress page- and I think there could be a good movie in it, so I was going to teach myself how to do it. But that brings me to yet another promise made to my SARA gal pals. Finish the damn books first!

Yes, you guessed it, I'm a serial starter... I have no problems coming up with great ideas, in fact I have first chapters coming out of everywhere but it's the actual 'the end' I have trouble bringing myself to write.  Took me 88,000 words and a lot of to-ing and and fro-ing before I could type those two words on my historical. But when you do *sigh*, when I do, a silly smile crosses my face and I finally let out the breath I held for the months it took to tap my baby out on the screen. But that's when the real hard work starts and I think that's where my 'the end' aversion comes from. I'm a little bit allergic to the thought of, not editing or polishing, but re-reading. I'm not the type to read a book twice, because I already know what happens. Where's the surprise? Where's the suspense and the unknown? Gone. That's where it went. It's why I've sat on my Blaze chapters for so long. I read them so many times, I convince myself there's no surprises left and that they're boring. Which, thank god, isn't the case! Twilight is the only set of books I've been able to read twice and I think it's because I have both movies to watch whenever I want and it piques my interest again, and again, and again. Say what you will about the writing style, the story, the characters, but I love them! I think Stephanie Meyer did a great job and I will continue to be in awe of her imagination and skill.

Anyway, enough rambling. I wasn't even going to post. This was going to one of those good news posts that ends after the first paragraph but here I am, still tapping away...

Oh and I've booked my conference spot at Romance Writer's of Australia's, Sun Sizzle and Surf later in the year! Woohoo! I'm going to share a room with Kelly (hopefully she won't snore too loud :P and I'm going to learn lots of new stuff. But more about that at another time. If you live in Adelaide and you've started a romance novel or want to start one, there is a one day intensive  on 15th May in the city. I'll post some more details as I have them...

And stay tuned for an interview with the fabulous Sarah Mayberry, a very talented Australian Blaze author! It's going to happen in the next few weeks =))

    Disclaimer

I'm a published author but I'm still mostly stumbling about in the dark looking for the right paths so this blog is about that, though sometimes something will give the me the shits and I'll have a bit of a rant. I'll try not to be offensive but occasionally my mouth opens without asking my brain's permission so I'll apologise in advance.
